Patch Notes
We haven't posted anything in a while but we were keeping busy over the holidays. When we were first starting F&F, we were also starting construction on a few homes. Over the last month, we've received final permits on those homes. It's exciting to see an entire home's specifications so beautifully organized while also being able to walk the house and see those selections come to life.
However, as those houses begin to get finaled, we are starting on new homes. This means we return to the start of the design lifecycle and can see how some of the workflows in F&F aren't quite as polished as we'd like. We tackled some of the items we found most frustrating
This was a long requested feature that is now live. When you open your selections library, and click to add a selection you now have an option to import many selections at once. You can do this by uploading a CSV file to the form with just two things: (1) a link to the selection and (2) the name of the category. We provide a template bulk upload csv with all of the category names for easy copying.
There are three key changes to how we handle scraping product data.
The first change you won't notice visually but should hopefully appear in your selections data - we have entirely new crawling engine. We think it is both faster and better quality but you'll have to be the judge.
The second change is that we are now pulling in any higher quality pictures that our scraper finds on the page. Unfortunately, the internet is a mysterious place and images on a webpage, their load times, and how they are loaded can vary. However, we now have many more image options being added. On top of this, we've added a simple interface for you to quickly manage quality control of those images. You can rapidly identify the best image, and delete one or all of the other images.
The third change is that we retrieve any PDFs. If the product linked has a PDF link for a spec sheet, install guide, parts diagram, etc. then the scraper should retrieve this document and attach it to the selection.
Often times, I want to discuss one room's design. This was easy in-app but if you wanted to distribute that room's materials to someone, then there was no way to do that. Now, you can simply click "Download" and it will return the drawings, inspiration images, and the specified selections for that room.
When you are setting up a new project, it can require a lot of editing of the rooms in a project. To help expedite this, we've added a kebab menu to the rooms in a space. You can go directly to the edit page or destroy rooms from this page.
No bug fixes this time.
